Constitutionalist combatant, Xochimilco, July 1914 - Original Version

This picture depicts a group of people, including at least three women, walking through a street. The cropped version shares the main themes of Adelita and the cropped train station scene: a woman looks away from the camera with an expression of concern and carries a rifle. She is separated from the group of women and soldiers with whom she is walking, again suggesting the uniqueness of women in the military. The rifle again suggests to the viewer that the woman is motivated by revolutionist pride, but even if this suggestion is true, it is not the experience of all soldaderas, as the popular narrative might have the public believe.
