The image depicts a woman wearing a dress and a hat posed standing and staring unsmiling into the camera. One hand holds the barrell of a rifle while the butt rests on the ground. Bullets are strapped around the woman's chest. The woman's name is Amparo Salgado; she was a colonel in the Zapatista army early in the Revolution.
