The picture presents five dark-skinned women sitting on top of a train; three of the women are actively involved in cooking using the rotisserie, small table-like platform, buckets, and baskets they have set out next to them. One of the women is smiling as she talks to another. These women are likely soldaderas who followed soldiers in order to cook for them and supply other services.
